Deaf &Hearing TRAILBLAZERS
For this UK government initiative, our MoU partners at Action Deafness set us the challenge to provide 16 - 24 year olds with a six-month work-readiness training programme as they spent time working within a consortium of seven organisations.
We created an online induction programme for 24 people and a portfolio tracking system, so that learners could record their work & learning in detail so that they had a motivated sense of achievement at the end of the time of the programme.
We worked with the SkillsBuilder framework and Academy to help individuals to confidently articulate their essential skills and their levels of competences.
Eleven young people found permanent or part-time employment
Four more went on to further education and training
Our "Middle Management Training" empowers managers with the skills and confidence to lead effectively. Covering key areas such as:
This training helps middle managers bridge the gap between senior leadership and frontline teams.
With a focus on practical strategies, we equip managers to drive productivity, foster collaboration, and navigate challenges with confidence.
We also provided follow up support to help individuals to embed and review their learning.
Our clinets in Edinburgh wanted to give the memebrs of the r youth club the skills and expereince so that they could go on to lead the club and its activities.
We worked online and in-person with a group of 8 young people and their youth leaders as they learnt about project management and the skills needed to execute.
We focused on their annual Summer outdoor activity camp as a real-time project.
With the safe cushion of backing support from ourselves and their adult youth workers, the club memebrs were able to plan, resource deliver and evaluate the Summer Camp sucessfully and many have gone on to build the club and its activities from strength to strength.
We designed and delivered a two day training programme for a group of customer facing employees who work within the deaf/hearing community.
Our intervention equips teams with the skills and confidence to deliver exceptional customer experiences. We focus on clear communication, active listening, problem-solving, and inclusive service approaches to ensure every customer feels valued.
Whether improving responsiveness, handling complaints, or fostering a customer-first culture, our training provides practical tools to enhance service quality and build lasting relationships.
This is a very popular request from organisations who have teams of deaf and hearing people.
Nothing is off the shelf, we spend time questioning and listening to our clients to ensure that the bespoke needs are understood so that we can deliver something that is unique to them.
We also offer follow up visits and reviews to evaluate the interventions.
Our "Strategic Review and Planning" service helps organizations assess where they are, define where they want to be, and create a clear, practical roadmap to get there.
We work closely with you to review your current strategies, identify challenges and opportunities, and develop a structured plan aligned with your goals.
Whether you need to refine your vision, improve efficiency, or drive meaningful change, we provide expert guidance to ensure a strategic approach that delivers real impact.
We were asked to design and provide training for a mentoring programme.
During the training needs consultation, it became clear that mainstream mentoring platforms are not accessible for sign language users.
So we have built our own sign language friendly mentoring website that is being piloted at the moment.
We plan to make this service available to the wider community.
We worked with a group of young people in South Wales.
Young people today are being exposed to more and more financial decisions - whether or not to download apps and music online or longer-term decisions such as financing and purchasing of expensive items and wether to attend university or look for employment.
We delivered 6 sessions with this group to cover:
Saving Money; Making the Most of Your Money; Borrowing; Moving on from School; Risk & Reward; Security & Fraud.
Our training equips professionals with the knowledge and skills to recognize, respond to, and prevent harm or abuse.
Covering key safeguarding principles, legal responsibilities, and best practices, this training ensures staff can confidently create safe, supportive environments for adults at risk.
Practical and engaging, it empowers teams to act appropriately and uphold the highest standards of care and protection specifically when working in the community with deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind people.
Make sure that your public events and entertainments are inclusive BEFORE they start!
We collaborate with event organisers to ensure that they build diverse teams of staff and volunteers that also include deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind people.
We then work with you to provide induction training to build everyone's confidence in each other and the potential that all members of the team bring to the show.
